After over a month's roller coaster ride, peaceful and placid waters lie before me.Having experienced an emotional turmoil coming in from both personal and professional quarters, the answer to " What Next?", is more vivid now.
Professionally
MBA : An unrealised dream, passion or obsession. What ever be it, the dream's still there, just that I 've decided to take a detour now. A man's not finished when he's defeated , he is finished when he quits. And I ain't a quitter. The watchwords for me : optimism, action, perseverance, courage and conviction. Impossible n'est pas francais.... provided you are determined enough. One doesn't stand out of the crowd by doing the extraordinary, but by doing the ordinary with extra ordinary zeal, enthusiasm and conviction. And wont let my enthu fizzle out. Success is quasi - essential, I believe the voyage to your dreams teachth you a lot. A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner. So I move on..

Well, "what next?"...... hmmm.... work with Tech Mahindra( unless I get a better deal lol!).
Riyaaz : Our college's first ever tech fest ( will be writing an exclusive post soon), whose astounding success came as a surprise not only to the students and management but to us, the organisers, as well. Believe you me, it was one heck of a learning experience! Nonetheless, absolute fun. From organising to compering to dancing to student achievement award. Did it all and did it in style! :D lol

Personally, continued to make new friends, even as i found it hard to avoid a recent fall out with a very close friend. Learning my lessons of getting less "involved".
How i wish life could be lived in rewind and erase mode. But it ain't that ways. It can only be understood backwards but got to be lived forwards.
And I move on... Leaving behind places, people and peers, carrying along the ones that matter and a zillion memories of the good and the bad times.. Evolving every time...

Life goes on... Its about taking control of your actions and thoughts. Taking it head on! Its abour being a fighter, a fighter for life!!

Making a Difference

Ever tried a frappe at barista, grilled sandwitch at oven fresh , maybe a smoked chicken sandwitch at subway...... or ever noticed the not so lucky urchins u see around these places.wat they eat, where do they sleep or for that matter how do they ever make a living??
The true essence of life does not lie in flaunting the biggest cars or hanging out in the elitest of restaurents... but much beyond that. As priviledged human beings, its our moral responsibility to help the lesser mortals. Mother Teresa once said... we ourselves feel that wat we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But if that drop was not in the ocean, I think the ocean would be less because of that missing drop. I do not agree with the big way of doing things...
each one of us possesses the power to change the lives of these under priviledged souls around us . with this very thought of makin a difference WE the youth of chd have volunteered help the children residing in the slums of sec 25, chd. The WE VoLUNTEER group accomplished its first mission in Pustak school sec 25 chd. nearly fifteen of us visited this school and interacted with the children there aged between three to fifteen. the yonger ones where taught painting and hat making which they enjoyed thoroughly. While the older ones drew their dreams on paper and the best ones where awarded!
We were touched by the love and affection they showed towards us and this very love will keep us comin back to them again n again. Well the next event is scheduled for the 26th of january...

Coming back to life

When you least expect it...life slaps you with a challange to test your courage,will and strength to change , adapt,accept,give in or just give up..to the situation...No one is a born winner...we win some and lose many battles in life....n i too lost one such battle in my life..cat results are out...to my shock n dismay i didn't make it...To make it even worse i ws awarded a negative in english!!!!!!!!!!

Certain things in life r just too hard to believe especially when i was certain in makin it into r nations biggies"!

Without makin it sound rhetoric it has made me a near nervous wreck. When things r so near...everythings so right....preperations...paper...when ur almost there....its ALL GONE !
Being back stabbed in the hands of destiny...ironical huh!
Pretty lame on my part to say...that's life! because if it is its just too unfair!
But then, got a focus on the 2 existances of present and future and not be caught up in the ashes of my dreams!...I'm trying to start anew...initiate a new struggloe and to fight again...Surviving the vagaries of life..its hardships and difficulties...stormy ups and downs is what produces a person of strong character...This night i know is too dark and long, but then i'll wait for that beautiful morning that'll bring back my lost smile....until then i'll fight! and fight again!
Because there aint no mountain high enuf..aint no valley low...

It's a new beginning from the end ...

CAT this year was a real shocker... the results gonna be ..well.. dismal and abysmal..
so i ve started working on alternatives.. like considering other B schools.. or the job offers from tech mahindra and convergys img.. but can settle down on any one of them..
HENCE, i came up with this... :D

WAT A DAY!!!!!!!!

24 th nov, 2006 is one day that no IETian would be able to forget ( no matter how hard he/she tries)...
well it all started with sudden new rules bein introduced n implimented in college.. somethin as absurd as,, anyone bunkin any lecture after the second sessional wont be allowed to take the third sessional in that subject ( well the ones who've done engg or are doin it know how imp the 3rd sessionals are.. probably the only time when we can score)..
and then on 24th evening around 4 o clock the list of deatained students in each subject was displayed ( me detained in all 6!!!! well submitted medicals n duty leaves.. managed to get 5 clear.. still cant take one exam) and then the crowd went biserk!!
they blocked the main enrty exit point of college!!1 so no buses cars could budge anymore!!! slogans etc etc etc,, a typical college strike!!!( more than 90percent of the college was detained in one subject or the other!!!)
then the management.. all stranded with us.. started negtiations at 5pm... they went on n on n on n on............
we hungry.. cold... shiverin in the open,, no battery in cell no food to eat !!!!1 wat a nightmare!
it was 9 pm and still the ice was not thawing,, princi too adament!negotiations failed... so gals were taken to the hostel.. ( well the gals can thnk me for that as i convinced the princi to do that!! lol) boys still out in buses n in the open,.. by that time shwetika's parents were on their way to college to pick us up..they reached around 11 30 pm.. we pushed of at 12 am..
then came the worse.. police force marches in to the college campus! boys try to stop them n in a dramatic change of events n for the first time in the history of our college.. students are TEAR GASSED n subjected to mild LATHI CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF!!!! its out in the local papers.... go chk chk chk people!
finally the buses left campus at 1 30 am!!!!!!!!
still there's worse to come on monday when we ( the few lucky ones who've been allowed to take the sessionals)get back to take the examz....
hopin for the best for all my pals who are detained.. hope there's some solution to it soon...god bless them n GOD BLESS BHADDAL!

all the way up from kandaghat to simla the drive .. misty mountains, windy conifers and the sun fighting its wayout to smile.. welcomin me home with.. well.. not one but two rainbows!!!!!!!!!( witnessed the double rainbows the next day too :))
the cold october rain was anything but "cold".
Is is wonderful to be back home.. ma pa hitesh.. dadu n dadi.. there love n warmth just made me forget all the tension the fear n apprehension that has been building up all this while( just 20 days to go !!!)

DIWALI:
wat a better way to start the vacation than to go for a drive from annandale to the kennedy house via glenn!! mesmerising!! diwali was good fun with elaborate poojas ...
we all managed to brave the icy winds n step outta our houses to burst some crackers.. simla looked BEAUTIFUL.. all lit up !! fun fun more fun.. with all gregarian activities n picnics!!!
well the fun ended yeaterday when i got back to college!! drab n jejune:(
many a times , i just sit by my window at home.. look at those familiar mountains.. remember my beautiful childhood.. those fond memeories.. with just one question.. why cant i be HERE.. at home forever.....
miss ya .. simla.. the place i call my home :)

"Life mein kabhi na kabhi fight to marni hi padhti hai"

LIfe is never lived in a quixotic lifestyle... its a rollar coaster ride, with its highs and lows, ups and downs, rains and sunshine. Life , I feel, is expecting the unexpected. it never goes the way u want it to go.. instead it drives u with it. Its up to u now, sitting in the driver's seat, to manoeuvre on the ways life takes you.

life keeps slappin u with challenges. even before you can gather yourself from one abyssmal situation, life's waiting right there to slap you again with another and yet another such onerous situation.

Each of these challenges set by life is a test for our willingness and courage to change, to adapt , to compromice or to simply give in to the situation.

Its not the physical being, but the mental strength that makes us strive and fight our way out of these quandaries.

Its an established opinion that the more you chase a thing, the more it evades you. Conversely the more you run away from a situation, the more it chases you .STOP! Face it!
You can not be timorous and turn your back as if nothing has happened.

Life doesnot wait for anyone. It s not regressive but progressive. It is full of joys and sorrows, esctasy and despair, wins and defeats. You might not always play and win but lose too. Do not get intimidated. It is better to lose some battles and still struggle for your dreams and aspirations than to be defeated without knowing what you were fighting for. Because that which doesnot kill you only makes you stronger.

Take life head on!!
Be a fighter ..... a fighter for life!!!!!!!!!

When a dear fren goes away :((

Old sneakers...old jeans....and old palz.....somethings in life are just forever...
this is a valedictory post to one of my closest buddies and definnitely THE OLDEST......... NANDITA!!!
yea. she's all set to return to USA forever... reflecting on the times spent together ..right from the time when we were four years old till today. we've come a long way.....
being neighbours.. 12 years in tara hall... another two in DPS.. then chandigarh...destiny has always kept us together or atleast around each other...'today when its time to go........ nandu u'll be terribly missed :(((
bein late for school...eloquotion competitions.. fetes and fights.. and yea the morning and evening walks!! its been such a long association .. and today its comin to an end.

but we meet to part and part to meet yet again

so here 's wishin u success in all ur endeavours..

Sitting by the window on a damp afternoon, watching the rain drops do the ballet on the window panes . Reading a book , maybe listening to my favourites and watching my life pass by me packed with memories of my family , frenz and yes myself!

Coming back to chandigarh after three weeks of refreshing vacation to simla, initially it seemed that the happy times spent there would never return!! Felt so bored and miserable:(( was roasted in the sun(some respite as its just rained)!! to make it worse , I was stuck in my room all day , banging my head on my boks tryin to make sense outta them. Yea! CAT!!!!! and I just cunt clear a single placement test:(( complete AT&T (all troubles and terrible) phase in my life!

UNTIL YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally got placed with Tech Mahindra(previously MBT).......... a mahindra n mahindra and british telecom joint venture!!
an awesome package, awesome locations( pune bangalore or noida)!! wat more sim and ishu are also there!!! yippee!!!!!!!

THis very statement has laid down the foundation of yet another super theory...called the " Babe Theory".
the very interestin theory has become very popular in the cyber world...so i didn't want u all to be devoid of it!!

THE THEORY
This theory was laid down by PJ Rourke... he says.... look for the babes, and thats where the social action is thats where the success will be...
further on....in case of political n social agitations..where and when there are hot babes , an exponential number of men will show up... if 100 cute gals are protesting for freedom , you can count on 1000 men being there as well!! lol!!

THE COROLLARY
another view of the Babe Theory holds that babes, you see , are a sigh of certain minimal level of affluence ... they simply add value to the agitations.... gettin it attention that is required....
take for example the anti quota protests goin on..... count the number of times a babe is featured and the times a guy is featured on the news papers, magazines, tv etc etc.... pretty faces get all the media attention!

ON SHALLOWNESS OF THIS THEORY

well , yeah, it is shallow, but in the end the babe theory describes whether a movement wil be successful, not why men are attracted to the movement........ also if no babes show off for the cameras, the media attention of protests is scant, at best.
It's shallow, but reality!!

Is Judas the new Jesus???

Jesus to trusted friend , ally and most preferred apostle , Judas Iscariot , in the Gospel of Judas.

Judas Iscariot, the name synonymous with treachery, hatred and betrayal, who sold his companion for money for his Crucifixion, might be an innocent man. A tall claim? Not if the gospel of Judas is to be believed, whose findings were recently made public....
GoJ portrays Judas as the man truest to god , as someone who was following Jesus's request to betray him. But if GoJ exonerates the man after whom it has been written , then why was it kept a secret for so long?

Is is believed that judas handed Christ over to the Roman authorities as he was helping him fulfill his divine mission and attaining salvation by sacrificing is life for humans....
if Christianity upholds the virtue of sacrifice... doesn't Judas deserve a better place in the history... wasn't he "used" by Jesus to attain salvation....didn't Jesus act selfish?whereas Judas sarcificed , yet suffered.


Is the biggest and the most popular faith in danger? Can it defend the very virtues it has been upholding for the past two thousand years???

Time to rethink over your beliefs!!!!!!
